Online! Portrait of Svetoslav Peev – the last veteran of Bulgarian cinema and theatre
Born on April 4, 1939. Graduated in acting at the Krastyo Sarafov Institute of Acting in 1964.
Peev worked at the Yordan Yovkov Tolbuhin Drama Theater, at the Aleko Konstantinov Satirical Theater (1967 -), where he was director until 1989, and at Darik Radio.
Director of the Bulgarian Academy of Culture in Rome, and of the Central Student House of Culture (1992 -).
Peev’s acting career includes over 70 theatrical and 100 television roles, as well as participation in 23 films. His films include The Horseman (1964), Nothing Better Than Bad Weather (1971), With Children at Sea (1972), Mission London (2010) and many more.
His directing career was connected with the theatre and began in 2006. Then Peev staged “Roman Bath” by Stanislav Stratiev in the Satirical Theater. Other productions he directed are “Two Weddings and an Adultery” by Ray Cooney and “The Backgammon” by Dimitris Kehaidis.
