More about the production:

The show combines great poetic text and arresting expression of theatrical tools: word, movement and choreography. It delivers a message of love, loss, imagination and transformation of the spirit.

With inspiring emotions, spirit and intelligence, the young actors recreate the wonderful world of Ovid’s characters, combined with modern sensibility, response and deep ideas. Director and associate professor Eva Volitzer has staged a complex and compelling piece, intertwining the characters’ deep spiritual quest with dynamic movements, imagination, humor and spectacular visuals.

Love is the spiritual message of the show. The play has an interesting structure, i.e. theater within a theater. On the one hand, there is the poetic text, and on the other is the dynamic dance form of expression, a colorful, captivating dialogue, tinged with humor and wisdom. Light falls on the metamorphoses of the characters as the actors go in and out of different roles. As a result, not only the characters undergo metamorphosis, but so do the actors themselves.

“The play is aimed at all sensitive and positive people who find spirituality in values,” said Prof. Eva Volitzer.

The show is performed on the stage of the NBU University Theatre and has toured successfully at the Ivan Vazov National Theatre in Ruse, Pleven Drama Theatre, Varna Drama Theatre and Burgas Drama Theatre.
