Synopsis
They call this new Bulgarian film “Balkan Tragicomic Eastern” – it sounds very pretentious, but there is something true.
The story is one of the most Balkan – about a roadside market, where the grey economy, illegal activities and fights between small fish are at their peak, and an Angel (Valeri Yordanov) wants to break free from the swamp and go to Western Europe (carrying drugs). Of course, all this will not end well. Although high in the mountains Angel meets a young boy who calls himself Ombre, the tragedy of the finale is unexpected and complete. It does not sound like a new ray in our cinema and there is a reason – the script was written in the 90s, but after many vicissitudes, it reaches the screen only now under the direction of the debutant Zahari Paunov.
