Synopsis:
It is hard to live in Bulgaria English style
What prevails customs or rules? The English pensioner John goes to live in Bulgaria and faces an unknown reality. Two cultures, two mentalities, two different concepts of live. They influence each other and this leads to plenty of funny situations. John helps his neighbour with open arms aunt Mara (Tatyana Lolova) and Notko (Rumen Ugrinski); he is up for every ridiculous idea of the local major (Nikolay Urumov); he bears all the insidiousness of malicious Shturbanov (Krustio Lafazanov); he likes the native beauty Gloriya (Biliyana Petrinska); he trusts Skina (Slav Boichev) and Dencho (Valentin Tanev) even when they cheat him; he becomes friends with the village drunk Vancho (Krasimir Dokov) and he is the only one who accepts Vanchos turning into a local saint.
The relationship between John and his unexpectedly arrived wife Patricia (Iren Krivoshieva) are much more complicated. Both of them pass through a parade of funny misunderstandings but this experience revives their love.
