For 30 years, 64-year-old Dante (Vlado Penev) has been working in a printing house and taking care of his sick mother. Within a week, Dante lost his mother and also his job.

Faced with the lost meaning of life after these life twists, he discovers one motive to continue living – the decision to avenge his mother’s tormentors, as after her death he learns about deeply held secrets from the past. Dante decides to write a book against criminals and fate meets him with the granddaughter of one of them – Raya (Radina Borsos), who is only 18. Will her presence further motivate his desire for revenge or give Dante the opportunity to make a different choice?

Dimitar Radev graduated in film and television directing at NATFIZ, a master’s degree in film directing at NBU, courses in directing and screenwriting at the New York Film Academy and a master’s degree in creative writing at SU “Kl. Ohridski”. He is the author of several short films, including “Song of Songs” (2010), which participated in the competition for the best Bulgarian short film at the Sofia Film Fest and was successfully shown at a number of international festivals; a documentary film about the “Bilani” drug commune, as well as a collection of short stories “The Hair of Absalom”. Dante’s Paradise is his feature directorial debut. The film was awarded the award of the Bulgarian film critics for a feature film from the “Golden Rose” festival 2020. The producer of the film is Nikolay Mutafchiev – “PREMIERstudio”.
