Pavel Ralev was born in Sofia and received his education with Milena and Valentin Valtchev at the NSMDA “Dobrin Petkov”, Plovdiv. Upon graduation, he went to London to study with Prof. Michael Lewin, David Russell and Fabio Zanon on a full scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music. He then obtained a master’s degree with distinction from the University of Surrey with Prof. Stephen Goss.

Pavel is the winner of a number of international awards, including the first prizes at the Adelaide and Zagreb guitar festivals 2021, the Bach prize at the 2020 edition of Koblenz Guitar Festival, and the first prizes at the 2019 Pleven and Plovdiv guitar festivals. In July Pavel will embark on his first Australian tour, where he will give recitals and masterclasses.
