One of the most remarkable rock-bands in our contemporary music scene: Stefan Valdobrev and The Usual Suspects” will perform at the Clapham Grand on Sunday November 16th. The highly praised Bulgarian actor, composer, singer and filmmaker Stefan Valdobrev rose to prominence in the early 1990s and has since then released various cult albums like “…to”, “Propaganda, Chromosomes, Silicon”, “I Love You, My Dear”, “Revolution”, “Dogs’ Home” O.S.T. and “The World is Big and Salvation Lurks Around the Corner” O.S.T. He was twice awarded as Best Male Artist of the year (1998, 1999) by the National Music Television MM and received a nomination for Best Male Artist of the decade by the same media in 2008.
“The Usual Suspects” are: the rock-legend Ivan Lechev (the guitar player of the Grammy Awarded progressive-rock band FSB), the jazz/ethno/rock drums virtuoso Stoyan Yankoulov (who has performed worldwide with many jazz projects and who became a great success in the ‘Eurovision Song Contest 2007’ in an ethno drum-duo with Elitza Todorova), Vesselin Vesselinov – Eko (the most significant Bulgarian bass-player, who has contributed to the new music scene with his participation in major jazz, pop and rock bands, and who collaborates now with the pop idol Lili Ivanova), the new generation guitar star Miroslav Ivanov (co-founder of Infinity and Safo, and an ex-member of the Irish band Amoric).
The fine blend of indie-pop and rock songs, Stefans powerful poetry and the presence of such high quality artists on one stage guarantees an extraordinary performance, great fun and a positive mood.
Two fascinating hours with Valdobrevs greatest hits in their entirety: Heaven, …to, One, “Is it me, or is it not”, “The River Bank Most Green”, “Wolf”, “Yes”, “Fireworks”, “I Love You, My Dear”, “Silicon”, “Propaganda”, “Chromosomes” and “Snow on the Sahara”.
