Victoria Terekiev , pianist, was born in Milan to a Bulgarian father and an Italian-Bulgarian mother (3/4+1/4 rhythmic blood, as she likes to point out).

Dedicated to the dissemination of the Bulgarian repertoire of the 20th century, she holds numerous master classes (Bulgarian classical music with the colours of folklore).

“I chose this repertoire to get closer to my origins. The rhythms of Bulgarian composers and their folklore meet in colours and nostalgia…”, she says in an interview on Style de Il Giornale.

She began studying piano early with Stefka Mandrajieva and graduated from the “ Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Milan with Eli Perrotta. She continued her studies with Paul Badura Skoda, Alfons Kontarski (of whom she was assistant in the master class held in 2004 at the Civica Scuola di Musica Claudio Abbado), Franco Scala, Tatjiana Nikolajeva, Antonio Janigro and the Trio di Trieste for chamber music.

Her second solo album “Wind from the East” for the Bulgarian label GegaNew is entirely dedicated to Bulgarian composers of the 20th century and was awarded 5 stars by Amadeus magazine in December 2016. In September 2018 her third solo CD entitled “Aquarelles” was released by Da Vinci Publishing and is a monograph on Pancho Vladigerov.

She has played for Serate Musicali, Piccolo Teatro, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, FAI, Sala Verdi of the Milan Conservatory, Wiener Saal – Salzburg, Innsbruck Konservatoriumsaal, XV Asolo Musica festival, Teatro Angelicum, Auditorium RSI in Lugano, Piano CityMilano, Villa Simonetta for the Chopin Nocturnes festival, Trieste Prima, Madesimo Festival 2015 for the Schubertiade, Sofia for UCB, BariPianoFestival 2018. She has performed pieces by Marco Tutino and in 1996 she played the world premiere of “Le Onde” by Ludovico Einaudi in the presence of the composer.

She has been interviewed and invited to play for RAI-Piazza Verdi, Radio Popolare, Radio Classica, Radio Capodistria, Radio Vaticana, Radio della Svizzera italiana, PianoSolo, LaRepubblica, Il Giornale.
