Exhibition opening: “Diagonals” by Plamen Monev

The Bulgarian Cultural Institute London is pleased to invite you to the opening of the debut exhibition of the “Diagonals” project by the Bulgarian artist Plamen Monev, on 17.11.2022, at 7:00 p.m., at “Sofia” Gallery.
The idea for the exhibition, for the project “Diagonals” and its name is coming from the both ends of the European continent. The trajectory of airplane flights between Bulgaria and Great Britain gave its name to this project. Part of the paintings were painted in Varna and part – in London, at Trinity Art Studios, a wonderful place for creativity and meeting artists on the banks of the Thames.
Born on December 21, 1961 in the town of Beloslav, Varna region Plamen Monev graduated from the National High School of Plastic Arts and Design „Academician Dechko Uzunov“ in Kazanlak and the National Academy of Arts in Sofia with Prof. Petar Mihailov with a degree in Fine Arts.
Plamen Monev works in the field of oil painting, graphics, and illustration. His is the project for the mosaic icon of St. Nikolay Chudotvorets at the lighthouse in Varna, Bulgaria. He participates in exhibitions, biennials, and plein airs in Canada, USA, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Poland, Yugoslavia, Switzerland, Slovenia, Belarus, and, of course, Bulgaria – Sofia, Gabrovo and Varna.
