TORNADO TWINS

They are Elena and Stefania – two artistic souls, two identical twins from Sofia/Bulgaria, who graduated from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia and have chosen to take the colorful path of art. From a very early age, they expressed their affinity for fine art. This doesn’t come as a surprise for their family, since their grandfather was already an established, prominent sculptor and artist of his time. Elena and Stefania are also engaged in other types of art – singing and dancing. For many years they have conquered the big salsa stages around the world. They also have their own song in bachata style, for which, besides singing it, they have also written the lyrics. They paint all their paintings to the sounds and rhythms of Latin music for their love for it is infinite. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why their work radiates such a colorful mood and joy. In their paintings, they like to depict different animals, plants, and wondrous people. Since they graduated from high school with a specialization in Landscape architecture and have an affinity for all types of plants, the most diverse flowers, bushes, and trees can be found on their canvases, presented in extreme detail. So, if you find a painting with species that have an incorrect number of petals, know that it must be a fake. It just can’t be theirs! Their artistic pseudonym ‘’Tornado Twins’’ is a short but extremely accurate description of their essence. The initials with which they sign all their paintings TT is an abbreviation of their artistic name, a collective name of two authors who have united their talent, inspiration, and ideas into one painting. And so, these creative natures, this tornado of passions, emotions, and inspiration pours onto the canvas with double force. They not only paint together on one canvas, but they do it simultaneously. One of them with the left hand, the other with the right. Whether they are fighting over the brush, whether they are dousing themselves with paint and arguing about creative issues, this is a mystery whose answer is only known to them. The important thing is that all their paintings take us to a wonderful, cheerful, positive, humorous, and extremely colorful place, as such, it makes us think about deeper, philosophical questions. Each of their paintings charges us with endless positivism and gives us hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel, color in the gray everyday life, and awakens the faith that has been dormant in us. At some point, an involuntary smile exhibits on our face and that’s when we realize that through these artists, art has affected us fulfilling its primary goal- to make our life a bit more beautiful and better even for a moment.
