Georgi Gospodinov’s nomination for the “International Booker” and his latest novel “Time Shelter”

We are proud and happy to share with you the exciting news of Georgi Gospodinov’s nomination for the “International Booker” and his latest novel “Time Shelter”, translated by Angela Rodel.

Gospodinov is one of the 13 authors who reach this stage of the prestigious literary award, selected from among 134 submitted applications.

The International Booker Prize has been awarded since 1969, and its winners over the years have been Salman Rushdie, Margaret Atwood, Kazuo Ishiguro, Julian Barnes. The novel “Time Shelter” is the first work in Bulgarian language to compete for the prestigious award.

With this happy news, we remind you about the meeting-conversation event with Georgi Gospodinov, organised with the support of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute London, which will take place on 22.05. at Blackwell’s Bookshop, 48-51 Broad Street Oxford OX1 3BQ from 7pm.

Gospodinov will meet and talk with the Bulgarian and English audiences, while presenting his novel “Time Shelter”.
