BCI London cordially invites you to the literary evening with the famous Bulgarian writer and playwright Teodora Dimova.
Theodora Dimova (born 19 September 1960, Sofia, Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian writer and playwright. She graduated in English Language Studies from the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and specialized at the Royal Court Theatre in London. She works as an editor at “Radio theater” department in Bulgarian National Radio. Theodora Dimova is daughter of the famous Bulgarian writer Dimitar Dimov.
Teodora Dimova is one of the most famous and award-winning Bulgarian writers. She is the author of 9 plays including “No Skin”, “Snake Milk”, “The Bitch”, “Lovers”, “The Innocents”, etc., played in different theaters in the country and abroad.
In recent years, her novels “Emine”, “Mothers”, “Adriana” and “Marma, Mariam” have been published.
In 2006, the book “Mothers” won the Bank Austria East European Literature Prize and KulturKontakt. The book has 11 editions in the country and is published in 9 languages, including German, French, Russian, Polish, Hungarian, Slovenian and others. “Adriana” was translated into France and the Czech Republic.
In 2010, “Marma, Mariam” won the National Prize Hr. G. Danov for Bulgarian fiction. Her novel “The Train to Emmaus” (2013) won the 2014 Culture Prose Prize award. Her latest book, “The First Birthday”, was published by the publishing house “Ciela” at the end of 2016.
