Alexander Rakovsky graduated from the Film Academy in Prague with a degree in Film and Television Direction. He has worked as a director in the Bulgarian National Television from 1978 to 1990. He has made numerous documentaries and feature films, as well as theatre plays for theatre.

He has been living in France since 1991, where he continues to direct reportages and documentaries. He has participated in the festivals FESTIMAGES and MOTOSTRA with two of his short films. Since 1992, he is a professor of film directing and editing in EICAR ( The international Film and Television School of Paris)
