Discography
For the two years of its existence (the group was founded in 2011) Tochka BG released
three albums: New Urban Songs, EnTRANCE and Watercolour). Their appearances
included dozens of concerts in Sofia, mainly at Studio 5 club of the National Palace of
Culture, as well as in galleries, at festivals and other events. The group also had concerts
in larger Bulgarian cities and in Vienna (Austria) and Skopje (Macedonia).
The name of the group comes from the title of one of their most popular songs (Tochka BG
means .bg, the internet domain name for Bulgaria) and features the subtitle Acoustic
Project for New Urban Songs. They write their songs together and sing them for their
friends. In their songs you can find references to the acoustic tradition of the English
singer-songwriters, to the Russian, Italian, French and Bulgarian singing traditions. In
recent months Tochka BG features guest musicians (cello player Teodora Ivanova and
percussionist Venko Poromansky). The group enjoys substantial media interest and has
made numerous TV appearances in popular TV and radio shows in Bulgaria. Interviews
with the members have appeared in major national newspapers, magazines and web
sites. In 2013 their song Tochka BG was nominated and reached the top three best
songs in the internet-based competition Bulgarian Song of 2012.
The music of Tochka BG is a return to everything that was lost in the age of electronic
sounds and computers. The four musicians prefer to bring forward the genuine sound of
real instruments. They value the immediate interaction with their audience and share an
understanding of the song as a unique combination of music and words.
