Peregrina EnChantica (http://peregrina.zoryburner.com) is a London-based vocal ensemble, founded by composer and artistic director Zory Burner in early 2014 as a significant part of her initiatives and projects, and working in collaboration with the BCI.
We offer our audiences an opportunity to experience the splendour of ancient and modern music within the classical and world fusion genres: Pre-Renaissance Byzantine chants, intertwined with the beauty and intricacy of Bulgarian folklore, presented hand in hand with adapted variations, derivatives by Russian classical composers of 19h c., and Zory Burner’s original works.
Peregrina EnChantica supports causes by organisations, engaged with nature and wildlife conservation, and we are highly enthusiastic about using our music as an ambassador of their causes!
Our current project includes presenting a new choral song-cycle, thematically related to the protection of birds and wildlife, at the International Festival of Arts “The Muses”, taking place on 11-16 July 2015, in the town of Sozopol, Bulgaria
“The Muses” festival will be a platform for us to present our hymn of beauty and harmony in nature, “Sub Dio” (Under The Open Sky), created in contribution to the recently carried out UKs National Bird Vote campaign, “Forgotten Names” – a special dedication to the endangered species of birds and all wildlife, “The Nightingales Song”, an original interpretation of the Bulgaria folk song “Morre Pille, Slavey Pille. Peregrina EnChantica will also add to the program Zory Burner’s specially prepared choral arrangement of the anthem of all Bulgarians living abroad, “How Beautiful Are Thee, My Forest” (Hubava Si Moya Goro).
